700 Block of Columbia Road NW. Over the summer of 2010 mural artist and teacher Joel Bergner linked up with DC youth from Civic Engagement, a Latin American Youth Center program based in Roosevelt High School. Together, they studied mural art, graffiti art and mosaics, and designed and painted their own mural on Columbia Rd., as part of the Murals DC program. This picture shows how the mural begins: a dark, sad scene with wilted flowers. However, as you can see in CULTIVATING THE REBIRTH 2 and 3, this is not the real message that the artists deliver with this work.
